THE annual speech at the Michael collins ambush site will be delivered by education expert Dr Edward Walsh today.
Spokesman Frank Metcalfe said: "We invited Dr Walsh because of his track record in irish education and his role in inspiring generations of students."The late Finance Minister Brian lenihan's speech, which was delivered in front of 2,500 people last year, is to be released on DVD.More than 1,000 people are expected to attend the event at Beal na mBlath near Bandon, co cork, where collins was killed in 1922.
The popular TD, who died aged 52 from pancreatic cancer in June, was the first Fianna Fail figure ever chosen for the role.
